Homemade Butternut Squash Butter

Combine butternut squash, warm spices, honey and fresh orange in this delicate butter.

Serves: 4 - ½ pints
  • 3 cups cooked, pureed butternut squash
  • 1½ cups mild honey
  • zest from 1 large orange
  • juice from 1 large orange
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp ground mace
  1. Add all ingredients except orange zest to a large saucepan.
  2. Bring mixture to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and cook until smooth and thick.
  4. Stir in orange zest.
  5. Fill ½ pint canning jars.
  6. Refrigerate for up to a month, or store in freezer.
